10 questions to help creating a brand identity

Designing a solid brand identity takes research, thought and lot of attention in order to accomplish a logo that will stand out and target the correct audience.

I am sharing my branding identity questionnaire so you can understand more about the process involved. This questionnaire is a big part of the brand strategy process, and I share it with my clients before starting the design work.

Description

1. How would you describe your services and/or products? Think about your brand’s personality.

Accomplishment

2. What do you want your new branding to accomplish? You can write a sentence or two that explains your company’s goals.

Competition

3. How are you different from your competitors? Think about what unique you from others.

Target audience

4. What’s the age range of your target customer base?

That will help creating an overall feeling and impression of the logo.

Tagline

5. Do you have a tagline? If so, would you like it stated alongside your logo? It can be a statement or up to 2-3 words specific of your offerings.

Imagery

6. Do you have any specific imagery in mind for your logo? Feel free to send me few examples you have in mind.

Colours

7. Do you have any colour preferences, or existing brand colours? Think about what colours best represent your brand.

Message

8. What feeling or message do you want your logo to convey to those who view it? Creating an emotional connection will help your audience remember you and stay loyal.

Appearance

9. On what platform and products you require the branding to appear? (website/business card/flyers/billboards/packaging etc)

Typography

10. Do you have any style of font that you like to represent your brand?

Examples: Serif, Sans Serif, script.
